In the Bible, the Gospel of John Chapter 1 explains who Jesus was:
Verses 1 -3
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."
Verses 10 to 14 adds
" He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
Why would God become a man (Jesus), then allow himself to suffer and die on a cross only to rise from the grave on the third day? Because we were separated from God by our sin:
The book of Romans explains:
Chapter 3:23
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
Chapter 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Chapter 5:8
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
We all broke the Law of God and Jesus paid our penalty. The resurrection proved the sacrifice was acceptable to God and that Jesus had broken the chains of sin and death.
What is sin? The 10 commandments reveal what sin is. Have you kept them all. The Bible says only Jesus Christ has. If we trust In Jesus and ask him to help us turn from sin he will send us The Holy Spirit to change us from the inside out. Jesus is alive has the power to will grant us eternal life. Do you believe this?
